It started with a candle I didn’t like.
Not a dramatic business plan. Not some lifelong dream of becoming a candle maker.
A candle.
I ordered one from a big-name retailer and the whole experience went sideways. There was an issue with the original shipment, a replacement was sent, and that candle arrived shattered. When I reached out for help, I was told they couldn’t do anything because I had supposedly already received the candle twice.
Except… I hadn’t. 😂
And then there was the candle itself. The burn wasn’t what I expected, the fragrance wasn’t what I wanted, and some of the other home fragrance products we were using were so strong they gave my boyfriend headaches.
It made me start thinking:
Why does a candle have to be extremely strong to be considered good?
Why can’t a candle smell intentional? Why can’t the fragrance fill a room without overwhelming it? Why can’t the experience of buying and burning a candle feel just as good as the product itself?
So I started making my own.
And KWERKĒ was born.
We don’t make candles just to make your house smell good.
We make candles that create a feeling.
A scent can remind you of somebody. A place. A season. A mood. A conversation. A whole damn situation.
That’s why our scents have names like Come Over, Spine Breaker, Not Too Much, Gossip Folks, Butter Me Softly, and Just My Type.
Because sometimes “vanilla + sandalwood” doesn’t tell you nearly enough.
We want our candles to smell how the situation feels.
Every KWERKĒ candle is hand-poured in small batches with carefully selected fragrance blends, thoughtfully chosen materials, and a whole lot of intention.
We’re not trying to make the loudest candle on the shelf.
We’re trying to make the one you keep coming back to.
And I think that’s the heart of KWERKĒ.
Not perfection. Not mass production. Not “more fragrance = better.”
Just really good candles, interesting scents, and an experience worth coming home to. 🕯️

Shymira is the founder and nose behind KWERKĒ.
After years of encountering copy-paste scents, headache-inducing candles, and customer experiences that felt like an afterthought, she decided to pour her own way.
Today she channels her love of storytelling and scent into uniquely blended fragrances that feel like nothing else on the shelf. Candles that are offbeat, story-driven, and unapologetically KWERKĒ.
